Parish council meetings

We hold full council meetings once or twice each month in the meeting room in the Parish Hall in Charing. They are nearly always held on Tuesday evenings starting at 7:30pm. The public are welcome to attend and are permitted to speak for up to 10 minutes on any matter relating to the Parish.

We hope you will attend at least one meeting, even if only to see who we are and how we do business.

Forthcoming meetings will appear on the Event Diary and Agenda can be found in the "Agenda and Minutes" section of the site.

We love this village and welcome your comments so we can work to make it even better.

Spring Clean Thank You

Thank you to the twenty seven parishioners who joined forces with the Parish Council to give the village a Spring clean.  On a wonderfully sunny Saturday morning on May 20th

at 9am, volunteers met in the Square, chose their litter picking equipment and fanned out throughout the parish.  I am pleased to report the village did not seem as littered as in previous years, so perhaps the LOVE LENHAM – HATE LITTER message is being heard.  There are now fourteen volunteer litter pickers who regularly clean their chosen area.

My gratitude is extended to Jacqui who clears Ham lane from Lenham Storage to the Primary school and often further, and to Phil who takes care of the Cherry Close estate.

Up on the downs, Henny and Peter keep the Warren Road and Hubbards Hill area clear of rubbish. Brian and Jo look after the Cherry Downs Picnic site and then carry on the task at Station Approach.
